From love to rage, sensuality to vitality, the color red conveys powerful observations and experiences. Since the Paleolithic period, humans have gone to extraordinary lengths to procure minerals, insects, and plants in their quest to create increasingly saturated, and persistent color. We’re making a splash at O with some fifty works that prominently feature the color red.
THE PLACE:
All this while grooving to jazz by Deer Head Inn favs, The Joe Michaels Trio. We’ll have hot winter bevs such as Hot Dark Chocolate, Peppermint Lattes, wines and in house baked sweet and savory small plates. All the folks are kind and friendly at Orange, the most beautiful music and art room in the mountains.
THE MUSIC:
Since 2002, Joe Michaels has been working as a professional bassist and educator based out of Northeastern Pennsylvania. He has performed with Grammy winning pianist Kevin Hays, Grammy nominated jazz artists such as David Liebman as well as world renowned jazz artists Vincent Herring, Adam Nussbaum, Joel Frahm, Adam Niewood, Nir Felder, Jimmy Macbride, Tim Warfield, Otis Brown III, Mike Holober, Wycliffe Gordon,Vic Juris, Phil Markowitz, Rich Perry, John Swana, Bill Goodwin, among others. He is the winner of the 2011 Belin Art Scholarship and continues to perform extensively throughout the United States.
